EFT

What is EFT?

It is a clinically proven stress reduction technique and can reduce the activity of the Amygdala – an essential part of the boys stress response. EFT works to clear blocks or excessive stresses within the body and reduces the emotional response or feelings to restore emotional balance.

Gary Craig’s Discovery Statement:

“The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system.”

A negative memory/event/thought/belief – causes a disruption in the body’s meridian energy system – causing a negative emotion which often results in negative behaviours and self-punishment.

EFT works to clear these disruptions or ‘blocks’ within the body’s energy system and eliminates the resulting emotional response (behaviour) to restore emotional harmony.

  • Beliefs and behaviours can be changed-forever.
  • Negative emotion felt when situations arise can be eliminated-forever.

taooingEFT is done by focusing on the specific problem (talking about it) whilst tapping with fingers on the end points of energy meridians. See diagram.

The combination of sending kinetic energy (tapping) to our energy system, whilst focusing on root causes, facilitates a “straightening out” of the energy system thereby eliminating the “block” to the body’s learnt response or negative emotion.

Often referred to as “Psychological acupressure”, the technique works by releasing blockages within the energy system which are the source of emotional intensity and discomfort. These blockages in our energy system, in addition to challenging us emotionally, often lead to limiting beliefs and behaviours and an inability to live life harmoniously. Resulting symptoms are either emotional and/ or physical and include lack of confidence and self esteem, feeling stuck anxious or depressed, or the emergence of compulsive and addictive behaviours.

An EFT treatment involves the use of fingertips rather than needles to tap on the end points of energy meridians that are situated just beneath the surface of the skin. The treatment is non-invasive and works on the ethos of making change as simple and as pain free as possible.

Because the techniques are so simple, they can be used effectively as a self-help tool, which empowers people to actively contribute to their own healing and development process.

EFT does not profess to perform miracles in the way of eradicating negative memories and issues. What it does is to remove the debilitating feelings of anguish, guilt, sorrow, anger, fear, resentment etc which may have been troubling you for years, allowing you to view your issue in a detached way; a way that allows you to step back and think about it and your response in a ‘whats really happening here’ kind of way. Experiencing life from a different, improved, liberating perspective.
